When the nation was celebrating its 64th Independence anniversary, BOM made its first appearence at the heritage Gaiety Theatre in Shimla, capital of Himachal Pradesh where the village of Malana belongs. The screening was organised by ‘Sankalp’, a local younth organisation and the Dept of Art, Langugage & Culture, Govt of HP.
The local audience appreciated and proudly identified with the film, which they felt truly represents their story.Knowing that Himachal does not have a film culture it is a significant butterflyachievement that the common people are now taking an initiative in supporting and distributing this independent, non-fiction film in their state.

Please contribute to help Independent Films

A non-fiction filmmaker is a non-filmmaker in India. There is no funding support, no broadcast or distribution platform available for independent documentaries. It is not considered to be a profession here. He does not have sustenance, he does not survive...Now I am fighting for my existence; I am fighting for my dignity.

It’s time to explode my ‘BOM’. I’ve prepared it for the last four years with a lot of care, trust and collaborations. Powered by Lord Shiva, a peace BOM with an intensity brighter than a thousand suns… louder than the big bang!

A film about democracy, truly by the people, for the people and of the people. Now it must reach the people. We need to create a public interface through theatres, film clubs, libraries, schools, colleges, universities... Please help it reach you.

I believe in philanthropy and would like to distribute this film with the same belief. Now all it needs is to find new friends amongst you to earn sustenance as an independent film. The film will be available soon on DVD and also for download. Watch the film, show it to your friends. If you want to organise screening of the film please mail us.

And if you can please extend your support and patronage for a independent film. Contribute to a cause

Organised by IIC, Delhi in association with MLF, Delhi
Happy to see 90% full auditorium.
Happier to see that we could retain 85% of the crowd.
Even happier to see 50% staying back for the Q & A after the film. And beyond happiness the collection at the end of the show covers the cost of travel, publicity and incidentals. Also some money left to buy chocolates for the children!
DVD copies of BOM are available with Magic Lantern Foundation, Delhi logo
